Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, has signed-off on Ministerial Decision No. 304 of 2019, announcing the launch of the UAE Inventors Association.

The Association head office shall be in Dubai and its scope of work shall cover the UAE. The Association will help promote volunteerism in the area of patents, patent awareness, knowledge dissemination and support national capacities in it. 

It will also work to improve the technical skill-sets of inventors via specialized courses, conferences, exhibitions and forums, providing them with platforms to support their work across technical, artistic and legal agendas. 

The objectives of the Association are to focus on the role of the inventor in the community, highlighting them as role models and to also seek out young innovators across sectors.

The association will also establish a national registry and an award system in various fields of inventions. The association supports preparation, development and training programs for specialized staff in the fields of inventions, development and investment of inventions by themselves or in partnership with others. 

According to the launch decision, the Association shall provide advice to governmental and non-governmental entities in the fields of inventions, and issue specialized media materials. The association focuses on spreading knowledge and awareness in the field of invention and adopt specialized scientific programs to qualify young people. Such people shall achieve inventions that benefit human kind through cooperation with educational institutions, relevant bodies and other official bodies.  

The UAE inventor, Ahmed Abdullah Majan, chairman of the founding committee of the association, expressed his great appreciation for the attention and interest by Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, Her  Excellency Hessa Tahluk, Undersecretary of Social Development, H.E. Hamad Al Mannai, Director of the Department of Public Welfare Associations, and Ahmed Al-Khaim, Deputy Director of the Association, and congratulated the members of UAE Inventors Association.

The chairman of the founding committee said that, “UAE Inventors Association is one of the top organizations for UAE's inventors, innovators, artificial intelligence and scientific research”.  

Ahmed Majan said: “UAE Inventors Association is one of the organization for UAE's inventors, innovators, artificial intelligence and scientific research. The association participated in several events including honoring the first inventors in the UAE annual program in its first term, launching Mohamed Bin Zayed University for “AI”, creating the position of Minister of AI, launching the year and month of innovation. The UAE through the educational institutions is keen on spreading inventions and creativity within the new generation. The country organized several challenges to the inventors; most significant is hosting the 44th term of the global skills contest, organizing ACTVET in Abu Dhabi and the Emirates Foundation festival in science we think. The UAE inventor, Ahmed Abdullah Majan, affirmed that the association faces several challenges and duties, including launching the national record and awards system in various fields of inventions, support preparation programs, develop and train specialized staff in fields of inventions development and investment. 

He further pointed out the importance of adopting specialized scientific approaches to qualify young people, to reach inventions that benefit humanity and cooperate with educational institutions, relevant bodies and other official bodies and represent UAE inventors association in international forums.

The UAE Inventors Association came as a result of achievements of UAE youth inventors and their awarding in many advanced medals and a field translation of the recommendations of a successful forum supervised by the Emirati inventor Ahmed Majan, a first member in the list of  inventors and innovators in the emirates and gathered his interests in the region on May 3rd, which called for the establishment of the association and the importance of focusing on the roles of the inventors in the society, making him an example and seeking to find pioneers of young inventors in all fields.
